Summary
CI/CD Transformation for IT Infrastructure
The Equinix-Arctiq solution implements a hybrid cloud approach, which eliminates the need for an on-premise infrastructure and provides an end-to-end infrastructure revamp. This will lay the foundations for application delivery pipelines to establish continuous deployment to production and reduce the modernization burden on the client.
Goals Achieved
Arctiq helped the client to achieve the following key goals:
- Established trust, consistency, stability, and resiliency in the IT environments being deployed, while improving delivery times and removing the need for team handoffs during modernized application deployment;
- Faster audit preparation in the move to Zero Trust policy; provided evidence to clients through DevOps adoption and quality gates set up in the SDLC life cycle;
- Security Governance across the pipeline for secure development and implementation; and
- Provided evidence to ensure that methods are meeting the SOC objectives.
Challenge
The client is a leading name in the financial industry and was dealing with the challenge of modernizing legacy systems to immutable production and non-production environments.
The client had four major concerns:
- Lack of trust and stability in the IT infrastructure;
- Slower audit preparation for internal/external audit assessments;
- Lack of governance controls for secure development and implementation; and
- Excess OPEX and CAPEX associated with self-managed data centers and the additional resources to maintain the physical locations.
Solution
Arctiq provided a Continuous Delivery as a Service (CDaaS) approach which helps customers adopt a hybrid or full-cloud migration strategy.
During this migration, Equinix and Arctiq guided the client through:
- The implementation of a CDaaS model and laying out a tactical roadmap for successful DevOps adoption, ensuring the new culture’s livelihood
- Meeting industry-specific security, compliance, and audit-ability standards (e.g., PCI)
- Integrating Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code to facilitate the operational model
- Enabling adoption for cloud-ready methods for reuse during a cloud migration
- Training the organization to help extend and scale successful implementations
- Providing data centres and connectivity hubs around the world
- Provided evidence to ensure that methods are meeting the SOC objectives.
