Self-Healing Networks with Ansible
January 18, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Recently in San Francisco, Arctiq presented at AnsibleFest 2017 and demonstrated the use of Ansible to automate network deployments using dynamically generated configuration templates. Click HERE to see the presentation. So beyond deployment and configuration of network devices, how far can we take this? How can we further eliminate risk and provide consistency to the network?
Introducing: The Self-Healing Network
Once the deployment and maintenance of your network is automated and version controlled, the next step is to build logic in the software stack that can recognize change and failures. Once a fault is identified, trigger a workflow that begins the process of identifying what has failed, and automatically correct the fault. This automation is directly applicable to all areas of the production network, from closet switches, core routers, right to the ADCs in front of mission critical applications.
Join Arctiq, Red Hat, and F5 as we explore real world use cases of Ansible to automate networking, monitor and action changes based on event-driven integration with key open source tooling, in Arctiq’s typical “technology-first” style:
- Templated, common config standards for devices
- Automation across the entire network
- Event-driven, intelligent automation
- Operational efficiency
- Active documentation with version control
This event is intended for network admins or engineers interested in leveraging their existing configuration management skills, while using automation to drive efficiency. The demos will stitch together, powerful, event-driven automation tools to drive Ansible playbooks to ensure configuration consistency is maintained and avoid unplanned outages in the environment.
